45 Year Old Man Killed In 4-Vehicle Crash

The man who was seriously injured in a 4-vehicle collision died in hospital after five days battle for life.

45 year old Ian Brown was employed at the Empire Theatre in Consett as duty manager.

He was involved in the crash that took place on the A693 at Beamish on Saturday.  He sustained multiple injuries as a result of the accident and was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Although there were passengers in other vehicles, including two children, none of them suffered injuries that required hospital treatment.
