Brynglas Tunnels Fatal Crash Victim Identified

The man who was killed in a road accident at the Bryngals tunnels on Friday has been identified by police.

67 year old David Archer was killed when the car he was driving crashed into a wall and an electrical sub station near the entrance of the tunnel.

According to the police some lorry drivers and a passenger from a car had stopped at the scene.  They have requested people who witnessed the accident to come forward.

After the collision, the motorway was closed for almost 6 hours which resulted in traffic chaos and led to long queues of traffic.

Gwent police stated that the crash which took place at around 03:05 GMT involved a Peugeot 308 saloon.
