Driver Jailed Over Jade Clark Moped Death

A banned driver has been jailed for causing the death of a young girl in a collision in Dorset.

The incident happened on 24 February on the A31.  Jade Clark, 16, who was on a moped, was killed when she was hit by Brian Hampton.

58 year old Brian Hampton was jailed for six years for causing the death and trying to cover up.

He even got his car repaired so he could avoid being detected.

The court heard that Brian Hampton was a compulsive liar and he was banned for 26 months in June 2012 for drink driving.

He claimed that he didn’t know anything about the collision until he was arrested in March.

He admitted causing death of the 16 year old by careless driving as well as perverting the course of justice.
